Obituary of Ron Borody

Passed away suddenly in the comfort of his own home on December 12, 2019. Beloved partner of the late Mary Lou Deneau for 40 wonderful years. Thankfully, after the sad loss of Mary Lou, Ron’s life was considerably enriched by the loving care, compassion and support he received by what he charmingly liked to call his Three Amigos: Adele, Bella and Jaclyn. Also during this period of Ron’s life, a special thank-you belongs to Ron’s friend and mentor, Dr. Bernard (“Bernie”) Lyons, who made it possible for Ron to continue what he cherished dearly: simply going into work. Ron was the stepfather of Barron (Mary), Tyler, Brett (Karen), and Michael (Heather). Cherished grandfather of Austin, James and Bella, and Maddie. Brother to Anjeli, Wayne (Jacqueline) and Patrick (predeceased). Dear uncle to Gabriel, Calin, Melissa, Terra, Charlotte, Camille and Mina; and cherished relative of the family of Olga and Danny Ukrainitz of Toronto; Mary and Richard Challender of Bellingham, Washington; Anne Thalman and family of Vancouver, British Columbia; and so many others. Along with his siblings, Ron was born in Vancouver, BC. Ron’s parents Andrei Borody and Vera Skibinsky both immigrated to Canada from the Ukraine in 1930. During the 1970’s, Ron attended the University of Guelph where he attained his B.A. degree in History. Ron truly lived life to the fullest. Besides Blues and Jazz music; Coronation Street; Chess; philosophical discussions; and the study of History, Ron was a lover of stories, jokes and anecdotes—a love he passionately shared with others (along with his eccentric and endearing gesticulations). He will be missed dearly by so many, friends and family alike, including his work-family at EZee Wheelz. We will forever miss the love, wisdom and laughter he brought to our lives. At Ron’s request, cremation has taken place. We will gather together in the new year in a celebration of Ron’s life, in Windsor, Ontario. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Canada. Arrangements entrusted to SIMPLE CHOICE (Dougall) 519-254-2585.
