Obituary of Robert "Rob/Butzey" Butler
50 years. Passed away peacefully on November 21, 2019. Deeply loved by his wife of 21 years, Elizabeth (nee Jaggs) and their precious boys, Jack and Joey. Rob will be forever missed by his sister Lauren Matovina (Rich Harvey). Predeceased by his mother Karen Butler (late Domenic Coletti). Great friend and brother-in-law to Leda and Bob Conlon, Andrew and Kathy Jaggs, David Jaggs (1989) and Rick Matovina. Adored son-in-law to Leda Jaggs (Bob Copeland). Predeceased his father-in-law Reverend Dr. Kenneth Jaggs. Amazing uncle to Lexie, Chloe, Christian, Mikey, Owen and Tom. Much loved nephew and cousin to Uncle Jack (late Aunt Sharon), Sam and Christine. Rob will be truly missed by his lifelong friends, Rob Bruce, Billy Miller and Dr. Corey Prince, and his golden retriever companions past and present, Ginger, Lucy and Maggie. Rob was the hardworking owner of Access Doors ‘n’ More, where he was well-respected in the local business community for his prolific work ethic. Nothing made Rob happier than spending time with his family at the hockey rink, pool and football field, where he proudly watched his boys. Rob was a private man who enjoyed reading a good book, listening to music, playing his drums and sharing a beer with friends. As a youngster, Rob spent his summers on Lake Huron with Aunt Norma and Uncle Harold, and continued this tradition at the cottage in Grand Bend, where he loved nothing more than cooking a turkey and sitting by the fire. Rob was a member of Beach Grove Golf & Country Club and the Riverside Putters, but his favourite golf partner was Elizabeth. Rob fought a hard battle with cancer and the family would like to thank Dr. Ott of London Health Sciences Centre and Dr. Elfiki of the Windsor Regional Cancer Centre. Special thank you to Dr. Sharon Doyle and ICU nurses Denise and Jessica for their gentle care and compassion. Cremation has taken place, and a celebration of Rob’s life will be held at Beach Grove Golf & Country Club, 14134 Riverside Dr. E., Tecumseh, ON on Monday, November 25, 2019 from 4 p.m. - 8 p.m. Friends and family welcome. Memorial donations can be made to a trust fund for the boys through TD Canada Trust (5790 Wyandotte St E, Windsor, ON). Arrangements entrusted to SIMPLE CHOICE CREMATION CENTRE (519-254-2585).
