Obituary of Robbie Lewis Wright

Robbie Lewis Wright passed away peacefully after a prolonged and arduous fight with cancer at The Hospice of Erie Shores in Leamington during the morning of November 11, 2 019 at the age of 65. The second son of Barry and Lois Wright (both deceased) Rob was raised in Kingsville and area where he went to school, worked and lived his entire life. As a boy he expressed an interest in cars by building models and entering them in contests which he usually won. This led to a passion for cars and motorcycles in his teens which he never lost. He was gifted musically and learned to play the guitar but later became interested in dance which began to take more of his time. Rob and his dance partners entered contests as they continued to improve and he began to teach dancing locally during the Disco era of the seventies. After high school he worked briefly at the Kingsville Reporter and then was among the first group of letter carriers hired by Canada Post to provide that service in Kingsville. He retired after 30 years with the Post Office. Through all these activities and with an affable, easy going manner he came to know many people and kept a number of them as close friends over the years. He spent almost the entirety of the last two decades battling cancer which caused him much suffering and greatly limited him physically but not his will to survive. Many thanks are due Drs. Kelton, Kanjeekal and Rukavina, the Metropolitan campus of the Windsor Regional Hospital, The Hospice in Windsor and, especially, The Hospice Erie Shores in Leamington. Also to be thanked are all the doctors, nurses, volunteers and staff everywhere who cared for Rob and enjoyed his company. He appreciated all of you. Rob is survived by his wife Cindy and his brothers Jamie and Craig who will remember him always. His own relationship with God and no less the loving care of his wife sustained him through his difficulties. Although there will be no service after his cremation Rob is sure to be remembered fondly by all those who knew him well. Donations in Rob's memory can be made by contacting The Hospice of Erie Shores in Leamington whose care and support of Rob was humbling and remarkable. Arrangements entrusted to SIMPLE CHOICE CREMATION CENTRE (519-254-2585). Online condolences and cherished memories may be shared with the family at www.simplechoicecremation.ca.
