Obituary of Elaine Marie Bachmeier (nee Charette)

It is with profound sadness that the family of Elaine Marie Bachmeier announce her passing after a long battle with cancer, surrounded by her loved ones on the morning of November 8th, 2019. She will be lovingly remembered by her husband of 30 years, Theodore Louis Bachmeier; Mother to: Laurie (Chris) Saby, Lisa (Chris) Ouellette and John (Lyne) Thompson; Grand-mother to: Scott Thompson, Samantha (Stuart) Bawden, Dylan Saby, Chantal Thompson and Kevin Ouellette; "Gigi" to Lilith and Marilyn Bawden; Dear Aunt to: Karen (Mike) Ouellette. Elaine was born on January 3rd, 1937 in Windsor to parents Eva and Gordon Charette. Survived by siblings Don Charette, Theresa Vachon, Gloria McBride and Lloyd Charette. She worked as a nurse for 25 years before retiring from Riverview Hospital. Those who knew Elaine knows her passion for baking. Being the "apple pie grandma" she was famous for her pies, butter tarts, cabbage rolls and cookies. She loved her family fiercely; dedicating herself as a single mother for 28 years and spent years worth of summers making memories camping with her children and grandchildren. She had a passion for yelling out "BINGO" and an undeniable talent to beat anyone in a game of scrabble. Elaine's beautiful spirit will be deeply missed by all.
