Obituary of Harold Austin "Scotty" Scott

Passed away peacefully at Erie Shores Healthcare with his family at his side on November 2, 2019 just shy of his 90th birthday. Beloved husband of Ann for 65 years. Loving father of the late Cindy Ann (1988), Terry (Ruth), Cheryl Smith and Constance. Cherished grandpa of Melissa (Mike), Ian, Myles, Alex (Scott), Clayton (Jaimie) and great grandpa of Harrison and Oscar. Dear brother of Gwen Sterling and the late Walter (2010). Scotty will also be missed by his dearest friend Brad and many nieces and nephews. Scotty was born in Ottawa, ON on November 10, 1929. At a young age his family moved to Harrow, ON where he was raised. In March, 1951, Scotty was drafted into the US Army. He received the Presidential Unit Citation from Harry S. Truman, the Korean Service Metal, a Combat Infantryman Badge, theW1 Bronze Campaign Star, the Purple Heart and the United Nations Service Metal. He worked for Pepsi Cola in Detroit, MI for 38 years. He was a life member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars, the Royal Canadian Legion Branch #338 and the American Legion Post 74 in Sebring, Florida. Scotty was known for his love for all sports, especially the game of golf and socializing with his family or friends over a cold beer or two. He will always be remembered as a faithful husband, a loving father, grandfather and friend. At Scotty’s request, cremation and a private family service has taken place.
