Obituary of Sandra Rose Ruthven

Born October 28, 1968, Sandra passed away peacefully at the Hotel-Dieu Grace Healthcare, Palliative Care early Saturday morning September 7th, 2019 with her husband by her side. Sandra succumbed to a battle with an incurable cancer which eventually caused a stroke. During her final days she was able to say her final good byes to all of her family and many friends. She maintained her unique sense of humor and quick wit throughout while continuing to express her unyielding concern for everyone else. A warrior until her final breath! Sandra is survived by her husband and best friend Herb, loving mother to Seth (Laura), Spencer, Mackenzie, Jacob, and a proud Mimi to Elliot and Max. She is the youngest daughter of Marie and the late Ron Bondy and a dear sister to Christine (Paul) Lavigne, Sue (Rob) Lavoie and Kathy (Philip) French. She will be fondly remembered as a dear sister-in-law of Deb (John Beaulieu) Alexander, and Colleen (Yvan) Mantha and daughter-in-law of Judith (Lloyd) Bondy and the late Herbert H. Ruthven. Sandra will also be missed by her many nieces, nephews, cousins and close friends across the country, as well as many co-workers and clients at Essex County Community Living where she enjoyed working for the last 17 years. A very special thank you to the Palliative Care Unit on 3 South at Hotel Dieu Grace Healthcare and Transition to Betterness. The support, guidance, and compassion this entire team provides is beyond any expectation imaginable. They are the guiding light for many on their final journey, and we cannot express the impact they have had on our entire circle of family and friends over the last 4 weeks. At Sandra's request, cremation has been entrusted to SIMPLE CHOICE CREMATION CENTRE (519-254-2585) and all are invited to join in a Celebration of Life on Sunday, October 6th from 1-3 PM at Coopers Hawk Vineyards (1425 Iler Rd, Harrow, ON N0R 1G0).
