Obituary of Mary Fox (nee Szakonyi)

Sunrise: March 23, 1936 - Sunset: August 27, 2019. It is with great sadness that the family of Mary Fox announces her peaceful passing at the age of 83. Devoted wife of 51 years to the late Lloyd Fox (2011), cherished mom of Darlene (Guy) Lachance and Brian (Sandy) Fox, and precious grandmother of Chantelle (Chris), Angelica (Justin), Kyle, and Amanda. Dear sister of the late Olga Carter, late Ed Szakonyi, Shirley (Gary) Rumball, and Steve (Ruth) Lendvai and daughter of her predeceased parents Mary (Szakonyi) Lendvai, Kalman Szakonyi, and Steve Lendvai (stepfather). She will be missed by all who knew her. Mary was an intelligent information seeker, an avid listener to health radio shows, and was always a phone call away with help or advice. She always enjoyed chatting about the day’s events. She always saw the good in everyone. Her concern was always with others and never herself. Our family will greatly miss our daily conversations with her. Her family was her pride and joy. Thank you for always being there for us. Our family is grateful for the care and kindness given to Mary over the past month by the doctors, nurses, and staff at Windsor Regional Hospital - Ouellette Campus. A private family service was held at Mary’s request. Donations in memory of Mary Fox may be made to The Hospice of Windsor and Essex County or the charity of your choice.
