Obituary of Leonard "Len" Knechtel

With broken hearts we announce the passing of Leonard "Len" Knechtel of Windsor, on August 27th, 2019 after a brief battle with ALS. He was the loving and devoted husband of 51 years to Marianne, and the amazing dad to their only child, Suzanne. He is predeceased by his parents John and Charlotte Knechtel, and his youngest brother Charlie of Vancouver. He will lovingly be remembered by his brother Richard ( Brenda) of Ottawa and oldest brother Robert ( Patricia) of Thorald. Loving uncle to his nieces and nephews and brother-in-law to Joe (Marilynne) Theresa (Doug) Don (Dee) and Jim (Beth). Born on April 2nd, 1942 in London England, Leonard grew up in Istanbul, Turkey with his grandfather whom he cherished dearly. He loved Formula 1 racing, fishing, sailing and poker. Joey, Smokey and Boris leave their little footprints on his heart. At the request of Leonard, cremation has taken place. A gathering at the family home will take place at a later date. Interment will take place in Fall 2019. Arrangements entrusted to SIMPLE CHOICE CREMATION CENTRE (519-254-2585).
