Obituary of Jean Henri (John) Mero

With broken hearts those that loved John are sad that he passed away on Tuesday August 13, 2019. Most precious loved husband of Jean (Matricardi) for 25 years. Predeceased by his wife Bea (Scollon) in 1993 with whom he raised two great kids Dale (Dana) and Dr. Karen Archer (Scott). John was blessed with 6 grandchildren, Nicolas, Will and Max Mero and Sara, Alex and Eric Archer. He was a policeman for over 30 years with London P.D. and the O.P.P. He retired in 1994 as Sergeant and detachment commander in Belle River after he had worked several O.P.P. detachments including Manitoulin Island. Upon retiring, he became curious about the purpose of life and was offered a Bible study. He wasn't sure whether he believed the Bible or not but after studying Bible prophecy he soon realized that the Bible is a sound guide for mankind and inspired by our creator, he studied for 3 years and dedicated his life, getting baptized on March 17, 2001. He was not afraid of death because of his strong faith that all the prophecies in the Bible are true including the one in The Acts 24:15 where the promise is made by his God Jehovah that there will be a resurrection of those faithful not to heaven but to a cleansed paradise earth as promised in Rev 21:3,4 where there is no more sickness and death and the fulfilled promise of the Lord's Prayer that God's will will be done on earth under his Kingdom, Matthew 6:9. John is the last of the children born to Donald and Victoria Mero, predeceased by his brothers Dan and Armand and sister Noella Miller. John also had a stepson Tony who passed away in 2013, whom he loved like one of his own. He also leaves to mourn several nieces and nephews that he loved very much and his sister-in-law Lou Mero. He will be missed. A memorial service will be held on August 24, 2019 at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses, 1590 Union Ave, Ruthven, Ontario, at 2 pm. Donations in John's memory can be made to The Watch Tower Bible and Tract Society of Canada, PO Box 4100 Station Main, Georgetown, ON, L7G 4Y4.
