I just heard about the passing of my uncle Danny. He was a great guy and I think about him a lot, even though I hadn't seen him in many years. As a boy in the 1960's, I remember going to the Mermaid Fish and Chips when he worked there; it was always a treat to see him. I am sorry that I missed his memorial service, but I had no idea that he had passed; I wish someone in the family had notified me. I will miss him, his quick wit and his boundless sense of humour.

Remembering Dan and the void he leaves behind. So sorry for your loss Yvonne, no words to ease your pain, just know that we send you love and friendship for the days ahead.❤ Want to share one of many happy/funny memories that will make you smile and take you back to a happy time. Remember when we lived in Sevenoaks Court just of 9th Avenue, Calgary. Many, many happy times in that old but wonderful building. Yvonne wanted me to share some happy times. On this particular day Dan and Yvonne wanted to do a hallway sound check, since they were in the beginnings of a new romance You will have to ask Yvonne about this or use your imagination.....it was funny especially when you have the older, sweet, Mrs. Mattie McKay caretaker show up while Dan and I were standing in the hallway and Yvonne was inside the apartment making a clatter. We will miss the TeeHeeHee's which Dan loved to say❤ Goodbye until we meet again, ❤Rod, Barb, Jen and Derrick

Donna Slobbe As my brother in law for 30 years, Dan was always ready with a quick wit, ready insight, and generous helping hand. A vital, integral part of our small family, he began by smiling at my 'joyful celebrating' at their wedding :) and subsequently always indulged with quiet amusement Yvonne's and my enthusiastic shenanigans during our visits. I will miss him very much. With much love dear Yvonne, know that I will always be here for you. -Donna xoxo

I met Dan and Yvonne when researching though Facebook for EC that horrible cancer. Turns out i had met Dan almost 50 years ago at a cottage in Port Franks. Following these two great people for two years has given me insite to what my dear friend went through in dealing with EC. To them i say thank you. To Dan, you are now at peace. And to Yvonne, you have friends and family to help you through these tough times. Be strong and my God bless.

When you and Yvonne moved in the neighbourhood 10 years ago we called you the new neighbours. Today we call you friends. We will miss our talks in the backyards, your advice and your great sense of humour. Rest in peace Dan and don't worry we won't let Yvonne use the Rider !
