I will always remember going out into the lake with him growing up until I couldn't touch the bottom and I'd kick on the board following him until he couldn't touch himself. I loved when he took me for rides in the Morgan and when I'd go for lunch with him and my grandma. he was the only grandfather I knew i learned alot from him I will always love and miss him

Mike has been a part of my life since I was about 12 years old. I have alot of memorable moments like the time he took me out on the boat for the first time and we went swimming in 25 feet of water & i remember my first ride in the yellow Morgan. He had many talents, was very creative and handy with tools. He was very creative when it came to woodworking. I still have the wood shelf he made me for Xmas. My mom and him dated for several years. I always respected the fact that Mike and my mom waited for me to be old enough to move out before marrying. Mike had the intellectual mind to teach us facts about people and the world around him. My mom had the heart of gold to teach us how to feel for others and how to positively view the world around us. They were so different but they made each other happy. He took her to dinners but also made homemade pizzas & steak dinners. They went to parties & stayed at home and watched movies. They went boating, & on Morgan adventures & far away trips. I thank Mike for giving her a life where she could laugh & experience new things. I admire his faithfulness to my mom all those years. I know it was not easy for him to accept our family throughout the years but I was truly grateful. He attended my wedding. He became the only grandfather my children would ever have. He may not have known what to say at times but he stood by my mom through a lot of of tough times & the loss of my two brothers. For 25 years Xmas & thanksgivings were spent with my family. He had to make lots of mashed potatoes & gravy, preferred blueberry & lemon pie instead of pumpkin and you had to leave enough turkey & lots of dressing for sandwiches the next day. We will deeply miss him during the holdays. We played goofy gifts every year & I can still visualise him in that silly hat or funky glasses & listening to the laughter of everyone. Xmas wasn't about expensive gifts. It was about the glittering tree, the smell of the logs burning in the fireplace, & snapping Xmas crackers just to wear those coloured tissue hates while sharing the jokes inside. Mike's eyes would light up with simple personal gifts like the newest Stephen King novel, a can of mixed nuts, chocolate or a zipped up hoody. I always admired his intelligece, determination & faithfulness all these years to my mom. He will be missed by mom, myself and my husband Fleming, and our children Trevor, Chantel & Kyle.

In Grade One, Mike taught me how to tie my shoe laces. When the houses were being built at Kildare and Ypres, we had dirt fights from the mounds of soil and Mike got a bloody nose one day that my Mom cleaned up and told us we were banned from any further battles. We went to cubs and scouts together and later he was a client of mine at Brack Animal Hospital. He was a neat guy! ...Rich Liddell....

I knew Mike through my brother, Ron. He was a good guy and a lot of fun. His mother was one of our wine club members as well. Condolences to all the family.
