Dear LeBlanc Family, We have Many fond memories of Stan, back in Newfoundland, and especially from the Years when We lived in Ontario. How Stan loved to go fishing; And the many trips to Bo-Lo Island every Summer with Our Families..it seemed He loved it as much as the kids did. And anyone who knew Stan, knows how much He absolutely Loved the game of Crib—always in search of that illusive perfect 29 hand! The most hilarious thing we’d ever known Him to do, happened many, many Years ago in Windsor once when we were there visiting. My Brother Joe & His Wife Evelyn were there visiting also. Back in those days, it was not unusual for the guys to have a few too many drinks of alcohol on occasion. It was very late one night, after an evening of at-home partying, Stan decided he was craving corn-on-the-cob. All the stores were long closed but, no problem—because, Stan knew exactly where there was a cornfield nearby, with lots of fresh ripe corn-on-the-cob, just waiting to be stolen. So, away they go..Stan, Joe, and Al set out to the cornfield. The remainder of the story went as follows: Upon arrival at the cornfield, Joe and Al decided ‘not’ to trespass and commit theft after all. So, they stayed the vehicle, while Stan set out alone into the tall cornfield in search of corn-on-the-cob. After quite a long while, Stan returned to the vehicle quite exasperated, holding up his hands, which were covered in mud, He said to the other two, “I dug up half the bloody cornfield, and didn’t find even one corn”. I don’t believe I’ve “ever” laughed so hard, since hearing that story the first time—that night. And Yes, there eventually ‘was’ a corn ‘Robbery’ that night. Once Joe and Al finally stopped laughing, they went with Stan into the cornfield and found plenty of corn “on the Cornstalks”. Memories truly are a wonderful gift that God has given to Us, and We are very thankful for the great ones that we have of Stan. Our deepest condolences to All the Family. We know that He was well loved, and will be greatly missed. Love & Prayers to All, Sharon & Al
