You have my sincere sympathies on the loss of your husband and father. I got to know Sam when I worked at WRCC in radiotherapy. He was a very fine human being who cared deeply for his patients. He made them as comfortable as possible when doing a painful examination. Sam was a happy outgoing man and I liked him very much. Lanny Joffe

Hi, Susan, it’s nice to hear from you. I used to get mad at my dad for “stealing” my friends but as an adult, I learned to appreciate my dad’s talent. Not many people can say their dad could put a sword through a person’s neck. Thank you for the condolences. Sarah

I was thrown from my horse, punctured my lung and ended up in Grace Hospital ICU. Throwing up in an emesis dish feeling horrible and in walks Sam Yoshida with the biggest pot of white mums I had ever seen. He warmed my heart, held my hand while I continued to vomit. I still have those white mums they come up year after year and have for over 15 years. They have been transplanted at 3 homes and still help me remember Sam and his kindness that day and many other days. I was often his" guinea pig" at the clinic when he wanted to try out a new relaxation technique. He helped me remember a train trip with my grandfather which brought me great joy. He was a kind man cared for patients and staff and I respected him. I also remember a time when he dressed up like a woman in order to attend a shower hosted by Shirley Maus. My condolences to Kathy and the family. Carole Manor

Our best memory, of so many, is our trip to Costa Rica. Sam and Kathy joined us on “ The Off The Beaten Track” adventure! It started with the bottle of Sambucca that the guys decided they “ had” to have. Thru the airport, loving tucked into the back of the of the vehicle, only to have it crash land on the pavement when they opened the hatch .... tears were shed! The following 3 mornings Sam would be waiting at our door so they could go down to the parking lot and inhale that special aroma. . We Loved That Man Will miss him terribly.... Lino & Rhea

My condolences to the Yoshida clan. We have fond memories of your Dad doing magic tricks while we were playing poker at you parents place. Great humour and personality. He remains with you engrained in your thoughts and smiles. I see it on your face all the time Mike. Thanks be for the blessings he shared with you all. May you find comfort in the memories you share. I know it will be a difficult journey in the coming days, weeks, and months ahead. Find solace in what he has placed in your hearts and embrace his eternal kindness. This is part of his enduring legacy that he has left for you. With great respect and sincerest condolences, Sean Bryan.

My sincere condolences to the Yoshida family for your loss. Dr. Yoshida was a remarkable physician who helped countless people during difficult times in their lives. My parents, Roderick and Evelyn were so fortunate to have met Cathy and Sam and they became friends over the years. Sam was a very compassionate man. When my father was hospitalized Sam spent a great deal of time visiting and talking to him. My father looked forward to and appreciated his visits immensely. Please cherish your fond family memories. Also know that so many patients and their families have benefitted from his guidance and advice. Thank you for sharing the good doctor with all of them. Rest In Peace! Sincerely, Ann Huang
