Obituary of David Allen Grant

David Allen Grant was born in Highland Park Michigan December 11, 1946 to Allen and Flora Grant. After High school he was drafted into the Vietnam War. Prior to his deployment overseas his battalion defended Washington DC against the rioters following the Martin Luther King assignation. Dave became an over the road Semi-Truck driver for many years, his last employer being EQS in Michigan where he was given the nickname “Gravy Dave”! He married his true love Kimberley 20 years ago and together they built a successful longarm quilting business. Dave found his “lil bit of heaven” in the village of Wheatley where he often sat on his deck or walked the woods surrounding his property. He was quick witted and loved teasing his fellow Wheatley boys. His favourite music was Rock and Roll and had a voice to match. His in-laws welcomed him into their family with many years of love, affection, respect and lots of desserts! He truly will be missed. He is survived by his wife Kimberley, his daughters Carie, Krissy and their families, Kimberley’s children Son Dennis, wife Haley, grandchildren Olivia, Crosby and Malcom. Daughter Laila, husband Vern and granddaughter Aria. His Sisters Betts Barb, and brother Tom. Cremation arrangements have been entrusted to SIMPLE CHOICE CREMATION CENTRE (519-254-2585) and a memorial service will take place at St. John’s Anglican Church (Leamington) on Friday, May 31, 2019 at 11am with 1 hr of visitation prior.
