Obituary of Julie Elizabeth Reid

Julie passed away peacefully, aged 58, on April 1, 2019, at Hospice in Windsor, in the presence of loved ones. She was valiant in her struggles against cancer, and her spirit shone mightily in the face of this, among many challenges which life sent her way. Left to remember Julie is her beloved husband, W. Donald Reid. Julie was predeceased by her loving mother, A. Joy Veres, and will be remembered by her father, Zoltan B. Veres, and his wife, Elizabeth (Julie's stepmom). She will be loved forever by her siblings: Valerie, Tammy, and Stephen, their spouses and families. Julie has also been loved and supported by numerous relatives, who will grieve her passing. Julie was a talented musician, church organist and pianist. Julie also loved nature, and she was a regular visitor to the parks along the river-front, feeding the small wildlife, there. The family wishes to thank many people in the medical community and support agencies who made Julie's last years, and particularly her final months, as comfortable as was possible. There will be a service of Celebration of Life at Bedford United Church, 3340 Sandwich Street, Windsor (Parking at rear off Russell St.) at 2 p.m. on Saturday, April 6, 2019. Family invite friends to share their memories of Julie at an hour of Visitation, 1 p.m. and on, preceding the service. IN LIEU OF FLOWERS, memorial donations may be made in Julie's name to Canadian Cancer Society/Soft Tissue Sarcoma, or to the Windsor Downtown Mission, where Julie gave of her time, or to the Charity of your choice.
