Our deepest condolences to Roger and family. I have many memories of Mrs. Jaarsma being so understanding while as teenagers we spent countless days at the Jaarsma household getting into mischief. She was also a great friend to my Mom and I know they enjoyed many pleasant hours together volunteering at the Hospital. A wonderful lady who will certainly be missed.

We are so saddened by Ursula’s passing - Ursula and Ray’s home has been the place where we neighbors have gathered to play dominoes and share tea and baked goodies for a number of years. I will miss her bubbly personality and always positive outlook - as well as her gardening and cooking advice. We feel so fortunate to have been able to share a warm friendship with them over these many years - thank you Ursula and Ray for being our good friends - love Marlene and George

I am so saddened to hear of Ursula’s passing. We enjoyed a vibrant and exciting conversation in November regarding Panama Canal cruising. Our plan was to match experiences upon my return. Ursula and I enjoyed intelligent conversations about global matters and she always had such a funny slant on diplomacy. I will miss Ursula sitting on her back yard and waving to me from my back yard, I will miss her smiles at dominoes, her waves as she bicycled past my home. Ursula left a gift of kindness that I will attempt to emulate. God Bless. Coni Leima Unit 263 Holiday Condo

Aunt Ursula was a very generous, active and social woman. When Jappie came to stay for the summer in Canada when he was 16 years old, aunt Ursula made him feel very welcome and he felt at home rightaway. We all experienced her hospitality and generousity in 2012 when we visited. She made way too much delicious food for us. And we discovered she was a 'trochsetter', her knee hurt bad but she didn't complain. We are so glad we made that trip to Canada and all four of us will cherish these memories for ever. We hope all your beautiful memories will give you comfort and will help you to go on without her. All our love and a big hug for all of you and espacially for uncle Ray and Roger. Jappie, Titia, Fenna and Johannes.

Ursula (Grandma) will always have a special place in my heart. She was present at Laura’s birth and soon after Emily was born she was there to visit and took care of little Laura. She was Laura and Emily’s beloved Grandma. She was always delighted to have the girls at their house. She took great care of them and played and read to them. Together with Grandpa they taught the girls a love and passion for gardening and trees and their treasured fruit trees. Grandma took them, wheeled them in the buggy, rode bikes with them and walked with them at their favourite place, Point Pelee. She let them bang away on the organ, stay up late watching Bengie over and over. And she made the best popcorn ever. Grandma and Grandpa attended every school event, concert, and graduation. Everybody was always welcome and the tea was always brewing. To say we will miss Grandma is an understatement. The lives she enriched are countless. Her energy and positive outlook were immeasurable. I am honoured to have been part of her family and forever grateful that she was my daughters’ Grandma. With love to the family, Lise Anhorn (Jaarsma).
