Obituary of Donna Irene McDowell

MCDOWELL, Donna Irene (Duffy) Donna (“Duff”, “Duffy”) passed away peacefully in Windsor on October 6, 2018 at the age of 98. Predeceased by her husband William John (“Fuzz”) (1989). Loving mother of Leita, Ken (France), Marion, Will and Jane (Chris). Devoted grandmother of Stephanie (Shane), Michael, Kate (Ian), Paige (Keegan), Joey, Kay (Chris), Jeff and Evan. Sweet great-grandmother of Lindsay, Megan and Chloe. Predeceased by her parents, William and Helen Duffy and her siblings, Mervyn, Marion and Keith. Donna was born in Seattle on January 8, 1920, but her heart and soul belonged to her hometown of Saskatoon. Moving east with Bill, Donna and family eventually settled in Windsor, where she was always recognized because of her nearly 20 years as a cashier at N&D Supermarket. Our Mum will be remembered as a loyal friend, for her great love of music, for her striking silver hair and for speaking her mind – whether we liked it or not. She is loved and will be missed by all. The family would like to thank Dr. Andrea Steen for her care over the years, the wonderful staff at Oak Park Lasalle and Lifetimes Riverside, and the Brunetto family, who treated Mum like one of their own. At her request, cremation has taken place. Arrangements entrusted to SIMPLE CHOICE CREMATION CENTRE (519-254-2585).
