Obituary of Rudy Van Holland

Rudy passed away peacefully at his home in St. Clair Beach on Wednesday, August 15, 2018 after a long battle with Parkinson"s and cancer. Rudy leaves behind his wife Jane, son Stefan of St. Clair Beach and daughter Sarah Holland (Andrew Carley) of Columbus, Ohio, grandchildren Robbie and Reagan Holland and Lia Carley and soon to be born grandson. Survived by his sisters; Gloria Rutherford (Robert) of Mississauga, ON and Sally of Fredericton, NB, brothers; Jeff (Janet) of St. Clements, ON and Jerome of St. Stephen, NB and brother in-law John Pettit of Fergus, ON. Predeceased by his parents, Medford and Avis (nee Mitchell) Holland of St. Stephen, NB, in-laws Harvey and Elsie Pettit of Guelph, ON, nephew Robert Rutherford of Mississauga and sister-in-law Barbara Pettit of Fergus, ON. Rudy will be missed by all, including several nieces, nephews and their families and many close friends. Rudy worked as an Investment Consultant in Windsor, ON for many years. He was born in St. Stephen, NB, grew up in St. George, NB and attended Northeastern University in Boston. Rudy was a sports person at heart following baseball and college basketball. He also enjoyed curling and golfing for many years. Cremation has taken place and following Rudy"s wishes, there will be no service or visitation. A private family service will take place at a later date. In Rudy"s memory, donations may be made to the Windsor Cancer Centre Foundation or to the Hospice of Windsor-Essex County.
