Obituary of Elizabeth Joyce Moran (nee Moreland)
Born January 25, 1933, passed away June 21, 2018 at the age of 85, after a brave battle with cancer. Predeceased by her beloved husband Donald Max Moran, on April 17, 2006. Also predeceased be her beloved sister Barbara Dyck (Vic), brothers Thomas (Betty), Richard (Anne), James (Ingrid), her twin, their parents Barbara Margaret (Lee), and James Moreland. She is survived by her son Mark Donald (Joanne) Moran, her daughter Valerie (Coppola) Fantinic, her sister Pat Sommerville (David), her grandchildren Joseph (Aimee Hawskeswood), Jodi, Nicholas (Lyndsy Pillon), Andr" Tardif, Ren" Tardif, Gaby (Oscar) Pena, great- grandchildren Athena Pillon-Coppola and Daniel Pena. She is also survived by many loving sisters- and brothers-in-law Brad and Lynne Bailey, Robert and June Moran, Jerry and Pat Moran, nieces and nephews and friends from First Baptist Church, Knox Presbyterian Church, County Classic Chorale, and her bridge club, where she played many a competitive hand with her good friend and bridge partner Marilyn Robbins. Special thanks to Janet (Moreland) Featherstone who is more like a daughter than a niece, Ethel Pulley, Marie Elwood, Heather Stezowka, Deacon John, Willie Taves who sang to her in her hospice room frequently, Greg Gare who penned the most wonderful poem in honour of his duet partner, Drs. Aoun and Matthews of Windsor Regional Cancer Centre, Dr. Burgess of Leamington Hospice and the many wonderful nurses, PSWs, and volunteers of Leamington Hospice, VON, CCAC, and of course, the many dedicated drivers from the Cancer Centre who faithfully brought her to her many Windsor appointments, and to Lucas Martin at Simple Choice Cremation. If desired, donations may be made to Leamington Hospice (Erie Shores), Windsor Regional Cancer Centre, or Essex County Humane Society. Graveside service to be held at Evergreen Cemetery in Leamington on Wednesday, July 11 at 1:00 p.m. All are welcome. Arrangements entrusted to SIMPLE CHOICE CREMATION CENTRE (519-254-2585).
