Obituary of Bruce Blanchard

Bruce has golfed his last round. This last round was in a perfect setting late last fall in Myrtle Beach with his son Jeffrey. Bruce valiantly fought his battle with lung cancer but succumbed to heart disease at his home on May 1, 2018 at the age of 71. Recently celebrated 46 years of marriage with his devoted wife Annette (nee Antaya). Very proud father of Jeffrey (Jody) and Michael (Jackie). Adoring Pepe to Mitchell, Averie and Adalyn. Predeceased by his parents Reg and Bertha and his sister Gail George. Brother to his sisters Barb Howell (late Russ) Marilyn Karn (Larry) and his brothers Dick (Jane), Dan (Rachelle) and Reg (Pat, late Nancy). Son-in-law of Lucien (1988) and Mary Jane Antaya. Brother-in-law of Ken Antaya (Deb) and Mariette Girard (Randy). Also survived by many nieces and nephews. Bruce was a tool maker for over 40 years and enjoyed his job, but he truly enjoyed his retirement by marshaling at Fox Glen and Seven Lakes golf courses. He also loved wintering in Florida. A special thank you to Dr. Burgess and nurse Paris for their compassionate care in Bruce"s final moments. Cremation has taken place. Memorial visitation will take place on Saturday, May 5, 2018 at Sacred Heart Church, 1425 Divine St., LaSalle from 9:30 a.m. until time of Funeral Mass at 11:00 a.m. Suggested dress code " golf shirts. All family, friends, co-workers and golf buddies are welcome to join the family to continue celebrating Bruce"s life on Saturday, May 5, 2018 at the K of C, 8965 Malden Rd. from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to the Hospice of Windsor-Essex County.
