Obituary of Mary Horoky

assed away peacefully on February 19, 2018 after a courageous battle. Mary is survived by her husband Steve Horoky, her daughter Cathy Galasso (Jimmy), her son Paul Horoky (Erin), and her dearly loved grandchildren; Samantha, Jacob, Andrew, Alex, Ryan and Eden, all of which she is very proud of. Mary is also survived by her sister Cathy Sanford (Keith) and brothers; Jim Rodie (Denise) and Robert "Bob" Rodie, along with many nieces and nephews that she cared for like her own. Predeceased by her mother Barbara "Babs" Rodie (1977) and her father Robert Rodie (1979). Mary was a registered nurse at Metropolitan General Hospital in the operating room for over 40 years and she would like to thank her colleagues, friends and physicians for making those years very enjoyable. Mary mostly loved spending time with her grandchildren. "Gram" was their babysitter, friend and "hugger" when they needed it. A special thank you to Dr. Paul Loebach and Betty Ann for all the kindness and compassion over the years and to Dr. Syed Anees for helping Mary through this terrible disease. Also, thank you to the nursing staff on the 5th floor at WRH-Metropolitan Campus for all of their care and compassion. To Sue, Sandy, Joe, Jen and Lucy, you all made Mary"s passing into eternal life so peaceful and you will forever be appreciated. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Canadian Pulmonary Fibrosis Foundation. As per Mary"s wishes, cremation has taken place. A private family service to celebrate Mary"s life will take place at a later date. Arrangements entrusted to SIMPLE CHOICE CREMATION CENTRE (519-254-2585).
