To the family of Mr. Dimmick I am a graduate of Centennial from 78. The number one influence from an educational perspective in my life would be Mr. Dimmick. Not only did he teach me, he challenge me to move beyond what I considered acceptable and made me appreciate the satisfaction the extra effort brought. The debate on social and political issues in the classroom impacted me throughout my life. My life turned out exceptional and I believe my introduction and time with Mr Dimmick was a contributing factor. My condolences to your family Bob Pellarin

I knew Gerry as the principal at Vincent Massey. I attended an IMPAC meeting and with Gerry's encouragement joined the groups executive. I only knew Gerry for three years but he left a lasting impression. During a meeting I remember him stressing how important it was parents to be their child's advocate. He not only strongly believed this but he practised it every day. Gerry was the advocate for every student that crossed his path. I witnessed this many times. He was always looking out for the ones that fell into the cracks. This is one reason that Gerry was a great principal and a great person and why I remember him so fondly. I am proud to say I knew Gerry. We have lost a great man.

An outstanding human being - intelligent, thoughtful, socially aware. Gerry was a true mentor to so many students and teachers. He had a great sense of humour, as well as a great sense of righteousness. I'm sure his family has been missing this man for a while and I'm happy he has found his peace, but sad that he couldn't be that "go-to" man when so many needed his sage advice. RIP Gerry; you were loved by many.

I was so sad to read the Windsor Star today and learn of Gerry's death. He was just a great guy. I have a lot of respect for him and the way he could interact with everybody. I learned a lot from him and I'm a better person for having known him. My deepest condolences to your family.

I was sad to read about Gerry's death. He was a dedicted member of OSSTF and did so much good work for the troops in the trenches. He was my Principal when I was at Vincent Massey SS. He was great leader, and never forgot his roots. One of the best
