Obituary of John Francis MacMillan

Passed away on January 8, 2018 at the age of 72. John is predeceased by his parents John Dan and Florence (nee MacIsaac) MacMillan and siblings Alexander (1994), Catherine Louise (1958), Barbara (2016) and Archie (1996). John is survived by siblings Loretta, Mary, Angus (Louise), Pauline (Phil), Donald (Jean) and Josie and sisters-in-law Martha and Karen. He will be missed by many nieces and nephews, extended family members and friends. John was born in Port Hood, Nova Scotia and as a young adult moved to Windsor, Ontario. "Brother John" as he was affectionately called, made countless return trips to spend time in his beloved Cape Breton. He often returned to Windsor from Cape Breton with a truck load of lobsters, to the delight of family, friends and fellow Cape Bretoners. He was a long time member of the Laborers Union Local 625. John will be remembered as a kind gentle soul who loved to help others. The family would like to thank the staff at Extendicare Tecumseh for the excellent care he received during the last few years of his life. Cremation has taken place and a private family service will be held at a future date.
