Obituary of Michael P. Southern

Passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by his loving family at the age of 64, after a courageous battle with cancer. Cherished husband and best friend of Christine (nee Hitch). Proud and loving father of Luke Southern, Jessica Costin (Joel) and Donnie Costin (Dominique). Leaving behind his sister, Kit Arsenault (Paul), brothers; Jim, Mark (Carrie) and Paul (Kim), loving sister-in-laws; Carol Kreski (Jim) and Sharon Zakoor (Ray) and many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his parents, Barbara and Walter. Mike will be forever loved and remembered by his dear friends; Dave Hamilton (Deborah), Darren Beaune (Michelle) and Grant McDonald. Mike was the proud owner of Southern Sign Co. since 1981. Mike"s daughter Jessica will continue to carry on with the business in memory of Mike. A special thank you to Dr. Bergeron, nurses; Sarah and Urszula and PSW, Crystal for all of your loving support. Mike has joined Jay Mac, his long-time friend. The "Fellas" are back together. "You are a peace now Mike, it"s time to spread your wings and fly". Cremation has taken place in the gentle care of SIMPLE CHOICE CREMATION CENTRE (519-254-2585). A celebration of Mike"s life will take place on Friday, July 7, 2017 at the Moose Lodge, 777 Tecumseh Rd. W., Windsor starting at 3:30 p.m. Donations in memory of Mike made to the Hospice of Windsor-Essex County would be deeply appreciated by the family.
