Obituary of K. Wayne Coughlin
COUGHLIN, K. Wayne 71, died Monday November 28, 2016. He was born in Windsor, son of Cecil Coughlin and Phylis (Treleaven / Coughlin) Nantau. Stepson of Lloyd Nantau. Wayne attended and received his BSc from University of Windsor where he met Olwyn (Veighey) Coughlin. They were married in 1968 at All Saints Anglican Church. Wayne was employed by Guelph General Hospital and St. Marys General Hospital. Culminating an extensive career in healthcare and laboratory sciences as Administrative Director of Laboratories and Cardio Pulmonary Resources for Grand River Regional Hospitals. Wayne had a great understanding that it is serving others that gives life meaning. Volunteering came naturally to him as a part of living. Wayne involved his children in organizing and volunteering at all of the hospitals fundraising activities from the corporate challenge, bed races, radio phone-a-thons, and of course the annual Golf Tournament. The golf tournament became a family event which created a legacy of giving and community support that all his children strive to honour. Later in life Wayne was also an active member of the Lions Club of Tillsonburg. He was also an Elder at St. Andrews Presbyterian Church in Tillsonburg. Wayne's faith was always a great example of Christian love and commitment. He is survived by his beloved wife Olwyn; his sons Jason (Megan Gough), Matthew (Amanda), and Andrew; and a daughter Fiona (Chris). He also leaves a brother Donald Nantau, and sisters Patricia Davies (Jim) and Carol Cote (Rick). He is also survived by his beloved grandchildren Jessica, Spencer, Zachary, Corbin, Amberle, and Kahlen. He also leaves nieces and nephews Robert, Jennifer, and Kimberley. Cremation has taken place. Memorial visitation will be held on December 5th, 2016. at All Saints Anglican Church, 330 City Hall Square W., Windsor, from 1 p.m. and until time of Memorial Service to celebrate Wayne"s life at 2 p.m. In lieu of flowers Memorial gifts in Wayne Coughlin"s memory can be made to the Arthritis Society www.arthritis.ca or The Downtown Mission of Windsor at www.downtownmission.com.
