Obituary of John Simpson

Simpson, John (William Walker) Passed away peacefully at home in Windsor, surrounded by his loving family on December 19, 2015 at the age of 75. Beloved husband of Penelope Simpson (nee Disher) for 50 years. Loving father of Melissa Pickersgill (Doug), Kerrie Groot (Scott) and Julie Simpson (Paul Bachmeier). Awesome Grandpa (Spyder) of Jake, Cam, Kenna, Nola, Anson and Riley. Predeceased by brother Alexander (1986). John loved to make cabbage rolls, sell Penny's meat pies, scratch lottery tickets and watch the Tigers. John and Penny were inseparable soul mates and his daughters were the twinkle in his eye and the pain in his arse. The grandkids were his pride and joy and he loved having them around when he cooked or while he fed the birds. Past president (many times over) and 50 year member of the Windsor Sportsmen's Club, he leaves behind a legacy of special events, many great friends and fantastic memories. Also, an honorary member of the Multi Lakes Conservation Association. Following John's wishes, cremation has taken place. Only fitting, friends and family are invited to celebrate John"s life at his second home, the Windsor Sportsmen's Club, 2401 Dougall Ave., on Wednesday, December 30th from 1:00 pm. until a Memorial Service at 2:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Windsor Sportsmen's Club or Hospice of Windsor-Essex County.
