Obituary of Viola Fanny Bragg

Our hearts aches, on July 10, 2015, the one we loved so dearly has died. Our mom, our gramma, our great gramma, and great-great gramma, the one, who right to the end was her passionate, feisty self. Mom was an independent minded and self sufficient woman. Her work ethic, which she has instilled in her loved ones, was evident in her ability to raise single handedly her daughter Carolyn Cockerton (Dan) and her son Ken (2007) (Eunice). Mom retired as a welder from Fabricated Steel. Mom always made time to have sleepovers with her grandchildren Sherri Gowman-Dulcamaro (Scott), Marcie Gowman (Brian) and Warren Gowman (Andrea) and great grand children, taking them in the yard with her, to work in the flower and vegetable gardens, hoping that they would inherit gramma's green thumb. She was good to them in so many ways and loved them very much. Mom was great gramma to Blake Donohoo and Kary Donohoo, Kambri Gowman, great great gramma to Darion, Andre, Desmond, Amari and Payton. Mom was loved by her family at Regency Park Nursing Home. All were very patient, kind, understanding and compassionate and they all gave mom tender loving care, and referred to as a "grandma" for which we as a family, from the depths of our hearts are grateful, so many taking the time to always look after our every need. Mom was born in Ford City, the daughter of Walter and Winnifred Brook. Surviving siblings, Olive Kostur, Kenneth (Eleanor), Winnifred Moore, Robert and Virginia Trothen (Bruce). Predeceased by siblings Russell, Alvin, Ethel, Harry, Arnold, Joyce, James and Dorothy. Mom, gave us love, showing in her own way just how much she loved us. We are truly grateful. At mom's request, Cremation has taken place. A family gathering will be held at a later date. Arrangements entrusted to SIMPLE CHOICE CREMATION CENTRE INC., 519-254-2585. Our sincere thanks to Simple Choice for going above and beyond all of our expectations, giving kindness and personal attention to our every need.
