To the family. "Uncle John" was my Godfather and a friend to my father ( John Rogers) and my mother's family ( Shelagh, Norah, Pat and their mother Jean Levis) before I was born. I know he met my father at Queens University in the early 1950's and he lived at my grandmother Levis' home in Toronto for a few summers while in University. I knew him as Uncle John and saw him with some frequency when I was small. He left an indelible impression as a kind and stoic man. I haven't seen him much in the past 40 years after I moved west and last saw him 10 years ago at my mothers 75th birthday. On behalf of my mother Shelagh Vaughan (Levis) and myself, sincere condolences for your loss. Our whole family remembers him fondly.
