Obituary of Debra Jayne Phillips

Debra Jayne Phillips May 2nd, 1963 – April 9th, 2023 On April 9th 2023 at the Chatham Kent Hospice Deb passed away peacefully with her family at her side, at the age of 59, after battling an almost 3-year fight with cancer. Those ever-lasting memories made and shared by Deb to so many people will never fade. Memories that will fill the hearts and minds of family and friends that will live on forever. Her beauty both internal and out, infectious smile, love, selflessness, hard work and commitment she shared was like no other. Deb was truly a giver, a one of a kind. Deb was born in Birmingham England and immigrated to Canada in 1965 with her family. She grew up in the London Ontario area until she was 18, when she ventured out into the world to start a career in the beauty industry. In her mid twenties Deb became one of the top nail technicians in the United States and eventually taught nail technology in Louisiana and Florida. Moving back to London Ontario she worked as a nail technician for a short time before fulfilling one of her dreams of opening her own nail school and spa in Wortley Village, Old South London. Deb will be extremely missed by her loving husband David Phillips, son Scott Phillips (Tiffany Bourdeau), her princess Riley Scott, sister Tanya Scott (Don), sister-in-law Lorrie Butler (Kent), brother-in-law Mark Phillips (Linda) and very special mother-in-law Barbara Phillips, many nieces, nephews and long-time friends. Deb is predeceased by her loving father Robert Taft and father in law Wayne Phillips. Deb along with her family and friends were planning her 60th birthday Saturday April 29th at 4:30pm with the theme from the 60’s hit song Surfing in the USA. In following her wishes we will carry out her 60th Heavenly Birthday/Celebration of Life at the Morpeth Community Centre April 29th at 4:30pm in the same theme, please dress accordingly. commemorate Please consider donations made in Deb’s memory to the Chatham Kent Hospice.
