Obituary of Elaine Dutton

It is with a heavy heart that I share the news that Elaine Dutton has passed away on April 3rd, 2023 in Leamington, Ontario. Elaine was born in 1947 in Birmingham, England to the late Joan and Laurence Dutton. She was the oldest of two children. With her family she immigrated to Canada but spent some of her adolescence years in Mexico. Marrying in 1971, she would go on to have two children, Shelly and Laurie Nikkanen, and become a grandmother to several grandchildren. She was a devout Catholic, who spent years playing the piano in the church. In her spare time she enjoyed making jewellery and knitting. She also had a love for animals. Most recently her affection was focused on a spunky cat named Johnnie who offered her unconditional love and hours of entertainment in the last few years. We wish to thank the wonderful staff at Leamington Mennonite Home for making my Mum comfortable and caring for her before and during her passing. I especially want to thank Kaitlyn, her PSW who has spent the last few years caring for my Mum with such love and compassion. I know she cared for and thought of Kaitlyn as family. Mum you will be missed by those who knew you. I will think of you everytime I hear a church hymn or see a knitted afghan blanket. Please celebrate my Mum with a slice of her favourite food, a Hawaiian pizza made fresh and extra hot! as she would have asked. Laurie and family
