Obituary of Joseph Paul Marchand

Joe Marchand (79) passed away on March 14, 2023, surrounded by family. After his early life in Manitoba, Joe moved to Montreal, Quebec where he began his lifelong career with the Royal Bank. From Montreal, Joe’s job took him to various cities across Ontario before settling in Windsor in the 1980’s. Joe is survived by his beloved wife of 53 years, Marjorie, his children Roberta (Mark) Friel and Janice (Todd) Sylvestre and his much-loved grandchildren Sabrina, Apryl, Lizzie, Samantha and Nick. Cherished brother-in-law to Dianne (2021) and Norm Seguin, Sandra and Jim McDonald, Brian McGrath and Heather and Don (2014) Despres. Joe will also be missed by his nieces, nephew and friends. Aside from his devotion to family, Joe enjoyed time spent outdoors, golfing, riding his bike, and curling. Always committed to bettering his community, Joe volunteered extensively with the Canadian Cancer Society, sat on the board of directors for Glengarda Child and Family Services, donated blood over 100 times and, after retirement, delivered Meals on Wheels. We will always carry his memory in our hearts. Cremation and private memorial have already taken place. In lieu of flowers, you may honour Joe’s memory with a donation to the Canadian Cancer Society.
