Obituary of Wayne Ross Clark

CLARK, Wayne Ross December 5, 1941 - February 13, 2023 With heavy hearts the family of Wayne Ross Clark announces his peaceful passing at the age of 81 with his children by his side. Beloved dad to Wayne Clark (Maureen Shearer) and Tracey Clark-Ouellette (Don Ouellette). Proud grandpa to Kerrie Meloche (Ryan Lafleur) and Richard Meloche (Stephanie) and great-grandpa to Lucas and Carter. Forever remembered by his sister Gallie Holiday (the late Roger). Wayne is predeceased by siblings Marion Reid & Clifford, Helen Sadler & Larry (Gil), Donald Clark & Jackie, and his parents Marion & Wilber Clark. Wayne is dearly loved and missed by many nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family and friends. Born in Leamington, Wayne found his stride while attending Kennedy High School, setting records in swimming (backstroke) that lasted over 50 years. He was named to an all-city football team (end) and cadets where he placed third out of 10,000 in Ontario in long-range shooting. Also in high school while excelling in math, his love for finance started. He got hired at 17 as a student teller at CIBC. Within the next 5 years through schooling, he became a CGA, was hired by the government and progressed upwards for 15 years. He audited large corporations and also assisted with the RCMP with large investigations when they needed a numbers guy. The RCMP was aware of his love of scuba diving and he was asked to assist in underwater body recovery on occasion. In the early 1980s he had seen an ad in the Windsor Star for the Investor's Group. He retired from government and began his career as a financial advisor. From things people have said, to newspaper clippings, to boxes full of awards, he succeeded in his field; some even say a lot. He had convictions and he was true to them. You always knew where he stood. From his travels to Egypt and sleeping in the pyramids to traveling down the Trans Canada Highway with a canoe tied to the roof of his car while driving to a convention he was going to speak at, to finding him on a dirt road headed towards Wrong Lake to go camping. He loved nature. He retired in early 2009 and loved where he lived. He enjoyed all of the nature on his property. His home was his oasis. Wayne was a friend of many, and a kid at heart. You are missed.
