Obituary of Stanley Orest Luhowy
It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Stanley Orest Luhowy, age 94, on November 18, 2022, after a short stay at Windsor Hospice. Beloved husband of Cornelia Luhowy (nee Sedran). Dear father of Gregory and Christine Luhowy (Larry Fodor). He adored his only granddaughter, Marina Fodor. Brother of Josephine Stolarski, Emily Penzari, the late William, Peter, Anne, and Jean. Stan and Connie celebrated their 73rd wedding anniversary on November 5th, 2022. He was a resident of Belle River for over 66 years and took pride that he hand built his house on West Belle River Road, 68 years ago. He was employed as a tool and die maker at Dominion Forge for 36 years and retired at the age of 58. Stan was an accomplished wood worker and carpenter. He was elected to the school board at St. John the Baptist Elementary school, which eventually amalgamated with the Essex County Separate School Board and served for 16 years. His hobbies included cross-country skiing, snowmobiling, sailing, travelling in their Airstream trailer and riding his motorcycle. Both Connie and Stan enjoyed a motorcycle trip to the east coast. Stan rode his BMW motorcycle until he was 88 years old. He was truly a remarkable man, a devoted husband, loving father, grandfather, friend, as well as a kind and generous human being. Many thanks to the staff at Windsor Hospice for the excellent care he received while in hospice. If you so desire, donations may be made to Windsor Hospice. Per Stan's request, there will not be any funeral service. Arrangements entrusted to SIMPLE CHOICE (Wyandotte), 519-254-2585.
