Maureen, Phil, Bart, Kim and Sophia:
My deepest sympathy to each of you. I know your loss is great; the loss of someone very dear to you.
Embedded in Bart's profession was a life of untiring dedication. For those of us a little removed from those earlier years we note a man who carried that deep dedication into his personal life in his devotion to his family. I valued a man who was a big part of my grandniece's (Sophia's) life for 12 years. I'm comforted that Sophia has those memories and I am grateful that it was a person like Bart who was there for her. I am sure too that Sophia gave many memories that Bart also treasured.
My thoughts are with you Maureen, Phil, Bart, Kim and Sophia.
In sympathy

Over the past weeks as I reflect on Bart's life and all the happy events that brought us together I am reminded of the pride he had for his family. as well as " Our Shared Pride as we celebrated Sophia's accomplishments
For sure it was family that bound us together but it was Bart's warmth, generosity and kindness that made us friends.
As I pass along my condolences to Maureen,Phil, Bart Jr. and family, please know that I share in your loss but I'm sure you now find comfort in that same pride for him and A LIFE WELL LIVED. .
REST IN PEACE!

I worked with Bart in Toronto GIS in 1973-74. Bart was the senior constable and I believe he was promoted to corporal while on the unit. Bart was a mentor to all of us junior constables on the unit and one of the nicest fellows you will ever meet. He was an exemplar member of the Force and very well liked by everyone. I am saddened to learn of his passing and I wish to pass on my condolences to Maureen, his sons Phillip and Bart Jr. and all family and friends. RIP brother.
