Such a good brother, such a good man! Your freedom from pain and fear comforts me. I will do my best to be there for your " angel (Pam)"! Rita

Growing up in a family with four daughters it was quite a novelty for us when Larry and Pam started dating back in the early sixties. They were definitely a very cool couple out and about in Larry’s red Valiant. Larry was always cheerful and kept us laughing. When Pam and Larry paid a visit to the west coast sisters last summer Larry was still in fine form and hadn’t changed a bit, although he had forgotten the punch line to his funniest joke ever—What do you get when you cross a Valiant and a Comet? Answer—A Vomet. That just goes to show what a sophisticated bunch we all were back then. I’ll always think of Larry as a brother rather than a brother-in-law. He fought hard till the end and had a strong faith that sustained him. We will all miss him very much. Pauline Hastings

We will miss Larry for a thousand different reasons, but paramount to them all; simply because he was the most fantastic of neighbours we could have ever asked for. Our fuzzy boys, affectionately refer to Larry as Grandpaw Larry. This was because like any other good grandfather Larry would come to the back fence and hand out puppy treats like candy to our Mooch and Logan. They loved him as dearly as we did, and will miss Grandpaw Larry not just for the treats but for his kindness and gentleness to everyone he cared for and about. We could continue to speak for days about how wonderful it was to have a Larry like Grandpaw for a neighbour, and it is his love and infectious smile that we will feel the absence of when we look out our back door now. Our chit chats between the fences will be missed as well as the sight of him on his riding lawnmower. It is the simple things that become the big things and Larry left a big impression on our household. We will love and think about you often Grandpaw Larry and we promise to keep good care over Pam xoxoxox
