Obituary of Joyce Elaine Wright (nee Brownlee)
Joyce Elaine Wright July 6, 1941- August 8, 2022 Joyce Wright, née Brownlee, passed away peacefully at home. She will be remembered by her loving husband of 45 years, Norman Wright, her children Myriam (Ron) Kaye, Alan Wright, Anne Robertson, Cynthia Wright, and Anthony (Kristel) Wright, as well as her many grandchildren, great grandchildren, and friends. Joyce was born in Edmonton to Grace and Gordon Brownlee and raised in Wetaskiwin, Alberta. As a young adult she lived in Edmonton, Grande Prairie, Iqaluit and Wallaceburg. She was an avid reader and loved learning. One of Canada’s first female private investigators, Joyce did undercover and investigative work at Pinkerton. Her astonishingly varied career also included realty, court reporting, and social work. Loving and caring, Joyce took care of many foster children as well as her own, at times alone. She loved Ontario as a young adult and was delighted to settle in Windsor in 1990 with Norman and Anthony. Joyce’s family would like to extend special thanks to Amy’s Helping Hands, the Alzheimers Society, HCSS, and the Windsor Essex Hospice.
