Obituary of Lewis Henry Garno

GARNO, Lewis Henry September 8, 1928 - June 7, 2022 It is with saddened hearts we announce the passing of Lewis Henry Garno at the age of 93. Loving husband to the late Ruth Garno (nee Adams). Dear dad of Len (Diana), Julie (Wene) Burke, Sharon (Bob) Dmitruchina, Chris, and Jon (Kim). Proud Grandpa to Sean (Jennifer), Corey (Meaghan), Amie, Kelly (Melissa), Terry (Shannon), Jason (Nancy), Adam (Nina), Casey (Jenna), Riley, and Jaime. He will be dearly missed by his 13 great grandchildren, extended family members, and friends. A special thank you to Marvin and Karen Gardner. Lewis was a master carpenter who could build anything you could imagine. As a lifetime resident of Pelee Island, he served as a church warden, council member and on the Co-op Board. He also founded the ambulance service. Lewis’s claim to fame was having the straightest rows on Pelee Island. As per Lewis’s wishes, cremation has taken place. Memorial donations made to the Alzheimer’s Society of Windsor-Essex County would be greatly appreciated. A memorial service will be held at a later date.
