Obituary of Wilbert Donald "Wib" Crease

CREASE, Wilbert Donald "Wib" June 12, 1926 - April 13, 2022 With hearts overflowing with love, we announce the passing of our beloved Dad, Wilbert Crease. Wib was born on June 12, 1926, in the upstairs bedroom in a house near the bridge in Windsor Ontario. Seventh child of Harry and Mary Crease, little brother to Harry, Gertrude, Bill, Mary, John, and Tom, Wib attended John Campbell, Roseland, and Lowe Technical Schools, and became a master pattern maker, working at various job shops in Windsor and Detroit, retiring from the GM Tech Center in 1988. He married the love of his life, Margaret Ellis, in 1951, and together they had five children, Judy, Joan, Karen, Jim and Kathy. Dad built his first house in 1951 on North Talbot Rd., and his second house in 1958 on Morand Ave. where the family grew and where he ultimately lived until 2019. Every year Dad loved to take his growing family and faithful dog on wonderful camping trips up to Temagami, Georgian Bay, as well as other beautiful areas in northern Ontario, and across Canada pulling the little tent trailer behind his trusty station wagon donned with his homemade car-top carrier. Every fall he loved to drive Mom out west to see the beauty of Yellowstone, the Grand Canyon, with the ultimate destination of Las Vegas; and every spring and fall Dad loved to go on his fishing and hunting trips with his friends. Most of all, dad loved his family. He will be greatly missed by his children Judie Wigcherink and David Klatt, Joan and Brian Sweet, Karen and David Marentette, James and Sloane Crease, and Kathleen Whitty, his grandchildren Michael, Kristina, Nicholas, Joanna, Holly, Dan, Ashley, Brittany, Kyle, Jade, Justine, Cody, Nevada and Sean, and his great grandkids Alyssa, Ella, Luke, Ronan, Henry, Bennett, Baylor, and Christopher. The family would like to thank the staff at the Village at St. Clair and Chartwell Oak Park for their loving care of Dad, and to all those who cared for and loved Dad during his journey through life. In lieu of flowers, donations to the War Amps would be appreciated. As per Dad’s wishes, cremation has taken place. Arrangements entrusted to SIMPLE CHOICE (Dougall) 519-254-2585.
