Obituary of Laurene Patricia Thompson

THOMPSON, Laurene Patricia (nee Smith) June 19, 1921 - March 17, 2022 It is with great love and sadness that we say goodbye to our dear Mother, Grandmother, and Great Grandmother Laurene Patricia Thompson (nee Smith) who passed away in Windsor on March 17, 2022 in her 101st year. Beloved wife of the late Lloyd Thompson. (1982). Dear Mother of Patricia Edwards, (Dave) Owen Sound, Jeanne Hays Windsor, Kathryn Thompson (Ken Slemko) Ottawa, Robert Thompson (Beverly) Windsor. Proud Grandma of Geoff (Rory), Jennifer (Mike), Mark (Laura), Rob (Anita), Laura (Mike), Heather (Ryan), Sarah (Trevor), Kris, John (Shari), Elizabeth (Jason) and also dearly loved by 15 great grandchildren. Dear sister of Bill Smith Ingersoll, Norman Smith (Sharon) Mississauga, Michael Smith (Lynn) Kelowna, B.C. and predeceased by siblings Madeline Waite, Helen Mennill, Joyce Gates, Maxwell Smith and Jean Smith. Laurene is also survived and will be missed by several nieces and nephews. Laurene worked for many years for both the Onions and Tuckey Home Hardware in London. Cremation has taken place. Arrangements entrutsted to SIMPLE CHOICE (Dougall) 519-254-2585. A celebration of Laurene’s life will be conducted at Mt. Elgin United Church on June 4, 2022 at 11:00 am with Rev. Lori Minler officiating. Masks are not required but recommended to be worn during the service. Special thanks to the staff at Oak Park Terrace and Extendicare Tecumseh for their care and kindness. Mom, Grandma, Great grandma will be greatly missed by all and so will her legendary chocolate chip cookies. As an expression of sympathy donations can be made to Mt.
