Obituary of Patricia Anne Bacon (nee Nantais)

BACON, Patricia Anne (nee Nantais) March 15, 1939 - January 11, 2022 On January 11th, 2022 at 82 years old, Patricia gained her glorious wings to take her to her beloved husband Paul (after 26 years of separation) and her wonderful sons. One son she was given only 2 hours to be with and her other “MIRACLE” son Roger that she had dedicated her life to making sure he lived and loved as long as he did. WE, her three daughters, Therese (Bob), Bernadette (Al) and Rosemarie rejoice in her new freedom away from the dementia that took her away slowly from us over the past 8 years. She is now celebrating and playing cards with her mom and dad and laughing hysterically with her three sisters…. Katherine (Walter), Germaine (Jack) and baby sister Helen (Crazy and Cool Uncle Frank). She leaves her two brothers Paul (Mary Ellen) and Richard (Sue) behind to try and outlive all of them as long as they can! She will be remembered by all her nieces and nephews as being one of the most genuine and hilarious Aunts wrapped all in one!!! Our mom lived her life as a caregiver. From early on with her own mother’s care and then with her life commitment to Roger (our loving brother). She was always involved in helping others who unexpectedly had a child with Down Syndrome. She would help them adapt and treasure their blessings with that child. She was also a part of the building of Harmony in Action for children and young adults with special needs. She supported them every step of the way and that’s where Roger loved to go. Her family and her surrounding neighbours (Mrs. Patkua) were her first priority. She raised three very strong, independent women and taught us a love for all people with special needs. Her daughters gave her 6 lovable grandchildren that adored their Meme. Meagan (Nicole), Morgan (Jena), Jagger, Dylan, Ryan and Mackay. She loved her role as MEME and loved showing her figurines in her cabinet one by one to them. We will treasure our many memories of backyard barbeques, family get togethers, family Christmas’s and playing LOTS of Rummikub, cards and games together. A very heartfelt and special thanks to all the staff at Riverside Place who cared for her in her final most difficult years. Thank you for the precious honour guard you had for her as she left. Special thanks to Dickie for making it an easier transition for all of us. In honour of our mother and in memory of her dear son, Roger, donations to Harmony in Action (3335 Woodward Blvd. Windsor, ON, N8W 2Y7) would be most welcomed and certainly put to great use. Cremation has taken place and a Great BIG Celebration of her life will take place in the summer when Covid GETS LOST!!! Then we will share wonderful memories of a daughter, sister, wife, mother, Aunt, MEME and friend who gave sooo much and expected nothing in return. MOM, we love you and miss you soooo much. You were a great mom and even better DR. Mom for Roger !!! Hug dad and Roger for us and “Never let them go” !!!! Our hearts are SOOO happy and at peace that you are with them now!!! Until we meet again……. Arrangements entrusted to SIMPLE CHOICE (Wyandotte), 519-254-2585. Online condolences and cherished memories may be shared with the family at www.simplechoicecremation.ca
