Obituary of Catherine Mae Montgomery (nee MacDonald)
MONTGOMERY, Catherine Mae November 26, 1966 - November 10, 2021 Catherine M. Montgomery, of Kingsville, ON, born November 26th, 1966 in St. Catharines, ON, raised in Florance, Nova Scotia, attended Memorial High School, died November 10th 2021, Cathy passed with her two most cherished companions at her side: Her loving husband, Joseph Montgomery, and her spirited daughter, Katie O’Brien. Cathy’s passions revolved around her family and friends. Her monumental personality penetrated every room she entered and every heart that had the pleasure of knowing her. Cathy wanted to ensure that she thanked all those who touched her life. Each interaction, no matter how small, helped to shape her and make her the beautiful woman we have all come to know and to love. Cathy’s strength, fierceness and kindness provided her with an unflinching ability to both care and protect the people she loved most. This unique combination of spirit lives on in her daughter’s heart, and will no doubt be reflected in her two loving granddaughters, Journee and Waverlie. Cathy was predeceased by her steadfast and dedicated mother Kitty (Catherine Rendell). She leaves behind her caring father Walter MacDonald and her loving friend and stepmother, Lynette. Cathy’s protective nature was a natural force that emerged from being the eldest of seven children. Cathy was the glue that kept this beautifully strange tribe together. She leaves behind her six siblings; Walter (Sherry), Robert (Tara), Raylene , Tammy (Craig), Duncan (Alexis) and Simon (Nicole) and their loving families. Cathy’s unshakable and unapologetic way of living will forever be remembered in the hearts of all those she left behind. Her life is etched in our souls. This is most apparent in the love that she and her husband Joseph Montgomery shared. Their love was a true reflection of the ying and yang, give and take, that we all strive for in our relationships. The love they shared could be seen reflected in her smiling eyes, infectious laugh and, at times, most serious glare that would terrify even the most hardened of men. Thank you Joseph Montgomery for giving our Cathy the love she always deserved. Cathy’s Celebration of Life will be arranged in the spring months in order for her enormous family to gather, drink, laugh and cry and send her off in the way she would have wanted. An announcement will be made in the coming months about the date the family will choose for the celebration. In lieu in flowers, please send donations to the W.E. Care for Kids Foundation, https://wecareforkids.org/ Arrangements entrusted to SIMPLE CHOICE (Kingsville), 519-254-2585.
