Obituary of William "Arthur" McVitty

MCVITTY, William "Arthur" July 12, 1937 - October 14, 2021 It is with saddened hearts we announce the passing of Arthur at the age of 84. Loving husband of Patricia for 59 years. Cherished father of Michael (Marie), Brian (Anne), and Laurie (Patrick). Proud grandpa of his 5 grandchildren, 1 great grandchild, 4 step grandchildren (including the late Rebecca, 1998), and 2 step great grandchildren. Dear brother of Aileen (the late Peter, 2016), and Maurice (Dianne). Arthur is predeceased by his nephew Aaron (1991) and will be deeply missed by his cousin Patsy (Peter), as well as his many nieces, nephews, and friends. Born in Northern Ireland on July 12, 1937, to the late Elizabeth and Wesley McVitty. In 1955, Arthur immigrated to Canada with his family, and settled in Windsor, Ontario. He began his career with CIBC in 1957 and worked there for over 30 years. Arthur was an avid fisher, reader, bowler, and a big fan of the Detroit Red Wings. We would like to thank the staff at Windsor Regional Hospital - Metropolitan Campus for their care and support. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or the Alzheimer's Society of Canada. As per Arthur's wishes, cremation has taken place.
