It's been a little over a year since your passing and I miss you like crazy. You were ALWAYS available to me when I needed you, even if it meant changing your own plans. I felt adored since the day I became your little sister to the day you took your last breath. I feel your presence when I hear a song we played together and it brings both a smile and a tear. I cherish those times immensely . Thank you and rest peacefully.

It's amazing to look back at the early 80's and see how much Jim played a part in my life that is still being felt today and will into the future. In the early 70's while at BRDHS I knew of Jim Tracey - who didn't. Jim cast a shadow even then over those at the High School...even those 3 years behind him. I didn't hear much from Jim again until 1980 when while working at CKCO-TV, he called to tell a bunch of us at CKSO-TV in Sudbury about job openings in Kitchener. I was the only one that had had enough of Northern Ontario and wanted to move back closer to home. Jim also told me that he had a place for me to live - at his house of Brubacher. That call from Jim set up the move and the invite to live at his place with Alex S. meant that I would eventually meet the girl next door, Donna Karley, who I would marry a year later and together through over 40 years of marriage we would welcom 4 beautiful children and 3 grand children (with one more on the way). None of which would have happened without Jim's phone call in 1980. We will be forever greatful and Jim will always have a special place in our family's heart. To Monica and family, I know you know, but be assured that Jim was a special person, respected and loved by soooooo many. Rest In Peace Jim

Monica and Tracey Family, you have my deepest condolences for your incredible loss. I worked with Jim at the Casino for the 15 years. He was excellent to work with and made sure the people he was responsible for understood the importance of teamwork between the departments. Jim was always offering help from him or "his team" whenever he found someone that needed some sort of assistance. Our offices were very close to each other for many years so running into Jim on a daily basis was the norm. I know he will truly be missed by all who know him and loved him. Rest in Peace my Friend!!

I first met Jim when I was 11 years old- he gave me my first guitar lesson in the basement of our house. I then got to know Jim on the rugby pitch. As the youngest player on the team at the time scared he hell out of me! - he was like a fire breathing dragon with eyes ablaze! Glad he was on our team! He was passionate and focused! You feel the intensity as he played. Monica, our heartfelt condolences to you and the kids. Jim was a wonderful and kind man. RIP Jim! David Lawn

Monica and family, I just found out about Jim's passing. I'm so sorry for your loss. As you know Jim and I go way back to teens playing in bands, travelled all over Canada together. Jim was best man at my wedding way back. I have so many good memories of our lifetime friendship. I still have tons of pictures from the 'old days". I remember he used to call my mom, "mom #2". She loved Jim as well. Monica, you and all of Jim's family are in my thoughts and prayers. Jim, you will be missed. Bob Manuel and family.

Jim was a man with a heart of gold with a gentle soul. His soft voice, winning grin & infectious laugh endeared him to anyone who knew him. You have been taken far too soon but you will live on in everyone's hearts. We will pray for strength for Monica, your Children, Grandchildren & Extended Family as they now have task ahead of them to carry on in your Memory. As Vince Gill put it so eloquently in his song 'God Rest High on that Mountain. Your work here on Earth is done.' ❤ Paul & Beth Hasilo.

Jim helped to coach our first women's rugby team in Windsor. He always maintained a positive attitude and infectious smile despite the "knock-ons" and failed scrums. The lyrics to the rugby songs he taught us can't be repeated here but are in our memories forever! So sorry to all of you for your loss. I am sure he will be missed by everyone he knew along the way.

I first met Jim as a rugby teammate in 1979. He quickly became a close friend and remained so over the past 42 years. I remember a few events with Jim playing a central role that had me laughing so hard, I thought my sides would split ... the Whip Dance with Jimmy Butterworth and our antics on the 5th floor balcony at the Daytona Beach SeaDip hotel should have been filmed. On the other side of his character, Jim was a thoughtful and caring soul with a deep commitment to family and friends. We have all lost a great one … adios JT!

Kim was one of my best friends and co/worker at CBC for many years. I admired the way he could tirn a friendly smile into a ferasome scowl in an instant. Then he would say: ‘yah?’ That was always enough to defuse the situation. And he was always great company. I miss him much today and I will miss him every day.

What a story teller, my friend Jim. When we spoke on the phone a few weeks ago, he had me convinced he was much healthier than he sounded. We laughed, we joked, we shared stories... Jim was everyone's "best" friend. He was so talented, creative and funny. Who else would tell you he had a heart on, then take off his shoe and sock to reveal a little red heart painted on his big toe? Only our long time friend and rugby star - with the vanity plate to prove it. Sometimes in public places it was fun to plant a big kiss on one of those chubby cheeks, always rewarded with a big smile! Monica, he was one in a million with great friends all across the country. Needless to say Gale and I were shocked to hear the news. Our thoughts are with you and the family... and the big guy always ready for a good laugh who always enjoyed catching up and telling tall tales, some of which were actually true. We'll be telling some of those stories for many years to come. Percy and Gale Hatfield.

Jim was a great friend! He was one of the first friends that I made in Kitchener. I worked with him at CKCO-TV and CBET-TV in Windsor. I actually did some work on his family farm in Belle River too, planting soya beans and winter wheat. We'd been out of touch (mainly because I’ve been busy) for quite a while, until a few years ago when we became Facebook friends. Now that I’ve very recently retired, I was hoping to pay him a visit! My last night in Windsor (before moving to Toronto) was spent having dinner and a movie with Jim and Monica at their house. RIP Jim!
