Obituary of James Michael Simon

SIMON, James "Jim" Michael October 3, 1931 - October 11, 2021 It is with heavy hearts that the family of Jim Simon announces his passing on October 11, 2021 days after celebrating his 90th birthday. Jim is predeceased by his wife and love of his life for many years, Linda Simon (2018). Beloved father to Scott Simon of Ann Arbor, Meribeth Meyers (the late Bob) of California, Kristie Ioannis (Ivano), Korie Ioannis, and Brandon Ioannis and his loving wife Tina. Jim is also predeceased by his brother Gabby Simon (survived by Elaine Simon), Scott and Meribeth's mother, Suzanne Bashara. Proud Grandpa to Violet & Rosalie Meyers, Kevin & Kaitlynn Kasana, Mya Fregonese, Nathan & Sydney Andrukonis, and Kristina Ioannis. He will be fondly remembered by his life-long best friend and golfing buddy, Tom Lyons. Jim's family is incredibly grateful for Tom's many years of unwavering friendship and support. Jim will also be dearly missed by his extended family and friends. The family would like to extend their sincere thanks and appreciation to the staff of Seasons Retirement Home in Lasalle, the Memory Care unit, and a heartfelt thank you to the manager Katie, and staff Kathy, Tiffany, and Princess for their kindness and compassion shown to Jim. Jim was a loving man who adored every moment spent with his beloved wife Linda and his family. He loved going out for fancy dinners, dancing, and long walks in Jackson Park. Jim always looked forward to spending time colouring and crafting with his grand-daughter, Kristina, and he never missed an opportunity to see his grandchildren.
