Obituary of William Virgil Fowler

FOWLER, William Virgil May 20, 1939 - October 2, 2021 It is with saddened hearts that the family of William Fowler announces his peaceful passing at the age of 82 on October 2, 2021. Born in St. Louis, Missouri , William was the son of the late Virgil and the late Bertha Fowler. Cherished husband of 29 years to Geraldine "Geri" Fowler. Beloved father to Dana Mitchell, Deneen Fowler, Cathleen Fowler, and Christopher Fowler. Dear step-father to John Griffore (Shannon), Kevin Griffore (Andrea), and Tom Griffore (Nathalie). Proud grandfather to Travis, Dusty, Megan, Elijah, Lux, Ian and step-grandfather to Gabriel, Simone, Daniel, Lily, and Hugo. Forever remembered by his sisters Joyce Vinci (Ben) and Gloria Bowman (Wally). William will also be dearly missed by his great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends. After serving in the U.S. Navy, William wore many hats having spent 50 years of his life pursuing a wide variety of entrepreneurial endeavors. Since moving to Canada in 2015 with his wife, he enjoyed being near his loving family. The family would like to extend their appreciation to family and friends for their continuous support and prayers. A heartfelt thanks to Pastor Luc and Christine Lebeouf, the pastoral care team, and incredible nursing staff at Windsor Regional Hospital (Ouellette Campus) and Hotel Dieu Grace Hospital for their kindness and compassion. As per William's wishes, cremation has taken place. Interment with military honors to take place at a later date at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery in St. Louis, Missouri.
