Obituary of Robert Charles Fraser

FRASER, Robert (Bob) Charles September 28, 1935 - September 25, 2021 The family of Robert (Bob) Fraser is saddened to announce his passing at 85 years of age after a brief illness. Loving husband of the late Irene (nee Gavin) (2017). Beloved father of Sharon, David (2020), Donna, and Anita. Dear Father-in-law of Laurie Fraser (nee Webster), Jeff Morency, and Kirk Whittal. Proud Grandpa of Paige, Christopher, Rebecca, Tess, and Adele. Bob was born in Brockville, Ontario, son of the late Gerald Fraser (1978) and Mildred Beckstead (2006), brother of James (Jim) and the late Frances (2017) Fraser of Brockville, and Jack Fraser of Dartmouth (2013); brother-in-law to Edith Gavin, Basil Gavin, Veronica and Greg Holly, and Nora and Basil Holly; predeceased by in-laws Leon (2008) and Irene (2017) Gavin, and Fr. Joseph B. Gavin (2019). Cherished uncle to many nieces and nephews. Bob worked for Stetson Hat Company in Brockville for many years before moving to Windsor to eventually open Aristocraft Equestrian Centre, where he manufactured and imported horse riding equipment. He was an avid fisherman and boater, and spent many wonderful years enjoying his cottage on Charleston Lake. Bob loved baseball and enjoyed reminiscing about the games he played and the teams he coached. He was a quiet man, but had a quick wit and sly sense of humour. He will be greatly missed by his family. Thank you to the Palliative Care Team at Hotel Dieu Grace Hospital for comforting Bob in his final days. A private family service will be held in Lansdowne, Ontario and a celebration of Bob’s life will be announced at a later date.
