I met Judy as a social worker at John McGivney Children’s Centre 23 years ago when my daughter was receiving therapeutic services. She was a fierce advocate for our family and all families. She exuded warmth, kindness, acceptance, knowledge, spunk, and humour. She left such a positive and everlasting impression on me! She recently called me to congratulate me on a new position I hold at JMCC. I was so very happy to chat with her and was hoping to visit with her soon. It was so Judy to reach out and extend kindness to others. I will cherish our conversation. To her family and friends, please accept my most sincere condolences. May you find comfort and peace with the many happy Judy memories.

Me and Judy met when she was my counselor. I had never met anyone who cared as much as Judy did. She was genuine in her love and caring nature. I am heartbroken to hear of her passing. She was such an important part of my life. She spoke highly of everyone she knew and loved. I will miss her immensely. To her family, may the memories of time shared bring you all peace and comfort.

Martin and Christiana, my condolences to you, your families and Judy’s sisters and brother. Your mom and I were nursing classmates at MGH and remained friends over the years. She was such a kind and caring person, always there to do what she could to help. I have many fond memories of Judy but one of the most poignant is the compassion and support she provided to me when my dad passed away just before our nursing graduation. There were also many good times, which we enjoyed reminiscing about over the years. Although we didn’t see each other often as the years went by our telephone conversations always included an update on you and of course a few laughs about our nursing school days and life in general. She be missed by so many.

Dear Christiana, Martin, Peter, Mickey and Joan. Sending our heartfelt condolences on the loss of your Mother and Sister. Marilyn's friendship with Judy began in Grade 11 at St. Mary's Academy in Windsor in September 1958. The friendship continued for six more decades. Judy's priorities were always her family, friendships, and her devotion to Nursing, and later as an M.S.W. Judy's dedication as a Social Worker to her clients and their families is well known to all those she served. We remember Judy as a devoted mother, a proud Grandmother, as well as a Great Grandmother, simply addressed as "Great". Over the years, Judy would meet regularly with Marilyn, Cathy Morgan and Suzanne Lemire for lunch and to catch up on news of their families and friends, or to celebrate birthdays. Cathy and Suzanne (Suzie) were together with Judy and Marilyn at St. Mary's Academy in 1958. The photo shows them all celebrating Judy's 75th birthday at The Whitney in Detroit. Judy will be missed by so many in so many different ways. Always in our thoughts, Marilyn and Derek Northwood
