Denis was very easy to worked with since I started Here in Windsor. We worked in a number of complicated issues with the equipment that goes late in the night and I never see him get tired. When we finished our work, he would visits other system to see if they have any issue. When we have free time, we would go to what we called office (Tim Hortons) and discussed things about our work plan and how he would talk about his sons future plans. He is very much motivated because of his family. He is a good colleague and a good friend. My thoughts and prayers Are with you and your family.

My association with Denis started during my undergraduate days in Indore, India. Both of us were quite interested in basketball and we enjoyed playing the game. We played a lot of it, I should admit. I still remember an incident when my elbow hurt him badly when we both jumped for the ball. My impression of Denis during those college days was that of a genuine person, friendly in nature, and optimistic in spirit. After the studies, we parted our ways and moved on to our respective provinces. Several years later, I visited Mumbai for some work. While taking a stroll outside my hotel, we bumped into each other. We recognized immediately, though the meeting was almost a decade after. The meeting provided us an opportunity to ruminate all the past events and to catch up with the years that we were not in touch. Later, I shifted to Mumbai for my work. Once while visiting the Our Lady of Perpetual Succour church, Mahim in Mumbai I happened to see him again. The next time we bumped into each other was at a metro station where my wife Celia and I were waiting for the train. Denis came to the station with Greta to board the same train. This meeting was an amazing one for all us, as both Celia and Greta were already friends and colleagues working in the same office in Mumbai. This way, the friendship got reinforced further in two parallel ways. Next, I took up a new job in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. It is strange that soon Denis too landed up in a place close to Riyadh with his new job. This added further impetus to our friendship, and he used to visit me occasionally and stay over on weekends. My other room mates and I used the occasions to go out in the evenings and enjoy special meals in nearby restaurants. A few years later, my family and I moved to Canada. In a couple of years, Denis and family too immigrated to Canada. During his trips from Windsor to Toronto, he continued to keep in touch with us, by visiting us at our home. After this, I relocated to Muscat, Oman and then retired into India from there. My family and I are deeply saddened now by this news about Denis. May his Soul rest in peace! While praying for his eternal rest, we also pray for Greta, Kevin and Kenneth that God will give them solace in their life. Santosh Thomas
