Obituary of Blair Allan Gilbert

GILBERT, Blair Allan January 22, 1957 - July 30, 2021 Blair Allen Gilbert, 64, passed away at Hotel Dieu Grace Hospital on July 30, 2021 after a difficult fight with cancer. The family would like to thank the staff at HDGH for their great care of him. Blair was born, the youngest of three boys, on January 22, 1957 in Windsor, Ontario to Harry and Maizie (nee Boakes) Gilbert. He was preceded in death by his dad in 2007 and his mom in 2020. He grew up in Windsor and drove car number 82 for Vets Cab for most of his working years. There are many stories of how kind he was to both young and elderly passengers. Blair is survived by his brothers Glenn (Liz) and Tim (Cheryl), and his nephews Jamie and Brian as well as nieces Kristin and Michelle. Blair enjoyed travelling - especially to Jamaica. He would often tell stories and share pictures of his yearly adventures spent there. Cremation entrusted to Simple Choice. At Blair’s request there will not be a visitation or funeral service. In lieu of a funeral and flowers you are invited to make a donation to the Canadian Cancer Society in memory of Blair.
