Obituary of Mary Louise Soltes

SOLTES, Mary Louise (nee Brenkach) -- January 7, 1929 - July 21, 2021 Passed away peacefully at the age of 92. Born in Brantford, Ontario, Mary was the daughter of the late Michael and the late Katherine (nee Zynio) Brenkach. Loving mother to Drew (Michelle Lowes) Soltes and Monica Soltes. Beloved Grandma Mimi to Lauren Soltes, Stephen Zavori, and Brooke & Jordyn Lowes. Fondly missed by her sister Anne Shiplo. Proud Aunt Mimi to Rob, Wayne, Brent, and Kirk Shiplo. Mary will also be greatly missed by her extended family and friends. A member of the Professional Secretaries International and president of the Quintus Chapter, Mary will be remembered for her impressive skills in typing, even earning the Golden Gloves of Typing award for being the fastest and most accurate mechanical typewriter typist; a record that's believed to be maintained to this day. Mary loved to spend her days golfing, proudly declaring every time when asked that she was "golfing just the other day." The Northridge Golf Course in Mary's hometown of Brantford was named by Mary herself, which has recently been renamed to the Walter Gretzky Municipal Golf Course.
